I’m preparing to take the Monkey-face to my mother’s for a few nights so that I can spend a couple of days getting the home straight. It’s our final week off of the year and it pains me to spend it thus. Not because I don’t want to spend my free time doing housework, but because I don’t want to spend free time apart from her. But it has to be done to make our life a little easier in the short and long terms and my mother hasnt seen Monkey-face for a while.
I’ve packed her clothes and when once I would pack her most loved toys, it warms my heart that we’ve packed her favourite stories instead: The Enormous Turnip; The Elves and The Shoemaker and the Gingerbread Man.
Her other favourite thing at the moment is “the Letters!” – an alphabet application that sings by the team that created Operation Alphabet. Better pack my iPad.
